Dandelions and Fairytale

 Dandelions and Fairytale

Looking through my stash of dies, I came across a brand new, never opened cut and emboss folder with beautiful dandelions.  My mind is immediately set on choosing the 'Fairytale' fairy as my focal image for this DT project for LW challenge #36.

Lavinia stamp featured:
Fairytale
Fairydust verse....

Cut and emboss folder featured:
Crafter's Companion 'Fairy Garden' set

I started out with a piece of pale yellow cardstock cut to 5 x 7.  After putting it in the cut and emboss folder and ran it through a die cutting machine, the resulting frame looked like this:

Because I didn't like the top lefthand corner of the frame, I cut it out and left the frame open.  Then I used different distress oxide inks (mainly orange/red and green shades) to color the frame.

I chose a background from a batch previously made with gel press, brayer, distress oxides, and color crystals and stamped Fairytale with Versafine Claire Nocturne ink.  Spectrum Noire's crystal clear sparkle ink was applied to Fairytale's wings.

I used foam squares and glued the dandelion frame onto the Fairytale background.  White gel pen was used to close the dandelion frame.  At  one point I was quite disappointed that the the colors of the frame and the main background didn't really complement each other nicely.  But after looking at them more closely, I found it quite entertaining trying to find the similarities between the two! 😄

Thank you for stopping by.  Don't forget to visit LW blogpost or AL Face group and enter your creations for a chance to win a Gift card to the Lavinia World store.  Happy crafting!!

  4. Hi Shwu-Miin. I know this is last minute, but life took over the last few weeks and I'm struggling a little to get it back on track :-) Love the beautiful wild flower frame you used to showcase the lovely fairy. The colours are so happy and bright! Beautifully done! Hugs ~ Lena
